I had the pleasure of sourcing recycled timber through Timbers with Veins. When four other recycled suppliers could not help and options were running out, I called Timbers with Veins and to my relief they were able to help.

I was after some weathered hardwood timber fence palings for a project in Gymea, but I didn’t want so much of the grey colouring. They were more than happy to roughly plane some of the grey colouring off exposing the beautiful timber colour underneath but retaining the look of age. The staff were extremely friendly and the service was professional and prompt. The material was ordered and within 2 days it was onsite, and that was including the planning works!!

I would definitely recommend this company and I will continue to use them whenever I can.It is refreshing to find a company and staff members who take pride in what they do.

So sorry for such a delayed response, so many things have happened over the past months with holidays, rain, tradesmen, letterbox lost in the post and whatever..

Anyway, here are some photos of our timber in the garden finished and completed – it is our front yard.

We also have some in the backyard but it is the front that I thought would be the most interesting to your team. It actually looks better in real life as the photos probably don’t capture the soft curve of the “palisade”.

The mix of timbers works really well and complements the huge eucalyptus that originally looked quite alone. We have many people stop and look and ask especially about the timbers as they are quite stunning.

I was looking around for a timber supplier that was flexible, well priced and gave me the specifications I wanted and needed to make the wall work. Other suppliers either couldn’t do the sizes or tried to talk me into their sizes when I wanted large single pieces over 3.5m long for example as I didn’t want any joins. I couldn’t resist sending a pic of the finished product. The planks of ironbark I got from you have started a new life as the gorgeous new desk in my office. Because it spans the width of the room I can’t get a wide shot to show the full dimensions but the desk is 2.9m long and sits on three brackets bolted to the walls. I wanted to retain both the beautiful texture of the wood and the role the timber has carried out over the last years, so I left all the bolt holes unfilled. I only filled the splits and fissures that presented a problem with splinters. I also use the holes for the phone and computer cabling, which means I can avoid core drilling the desk. I sanded it first with 40 grit, then 80, 120, 240 and a final sand with steel wool. It’s coated with Cabothane Clear Satin Finish.Originally, I used one coat of Cabots Low Sheen, which I had sitting in the garage but it seems Cabots  don’t make it any more, so I had to use the Satin finish, which is a slightly higher sheen than I wanted. I can’t resist touching the surface and putting my fingers down the holes. So I have a very tactile, living thing to work on. My wife now wants me to make a big table for the outside deck. She also reckons I should go in to the desk making business!!!! People want to know where I got the timber so naturally, I recommend Timber with Veins. I hope to be back soon for some more beautiful old wood.

We recently purchased some Recycled Ironbark from Timbers with Veins for our new establishment in Manly called The Manly Emporium.

The stair wood was sourced from your good selves and we could not be happier with the result.

A simple wire brushing plus a little sanding and then three coats of Estapol, brought them up nicely. Holes were bored with a vertical drill press and then counter bored to provide a recess for the engineering bolts. A very industrial look in the end.

The building company we used, the handrail people, and the tenants now living in the house, were all very impressed with the end style.

“I was searching for big section posts for my house and found a supplier out at Mudgee.

Then I accidentally found Timbers with Veins, saw their products, and much preferred them.

The product at Mudgee was classed at F14 – whereas  T.W.Veins stocked recycled timbers classed at F27. I couldn’t believe they were half the price of freshly cut unseasoned timbers and a much better looking timber.  I also appreciated dealing with a local company, with its own open holding yard, allowing me to purchase and store the timber until I was ready for construction. I ended up purchasing over 240lin.metres due to the great

price. I used these posts throughout my house;  in handrails, cabana posts, pergola posts and rafters.
